I have just started learning French because I am going to France as an exchange student. I needed to learn some survival French, but I did not have much time to do so (ie I have no time to take formal lessons in French institutes). I find these lessons very entertaining and very useful! Great job guys :)

Enjoy podcasts
Thank you for the free Coffee Break French podcasts. Having the free podcasts gives me an opportunity to see what your language learning program is all about. Now that I have completed 15 of the podcasts, I am ready to go to your website and buy the entire lesson, to include all the bonus materials you talk about. I enjoy the method with which you teach French and hopefully I can speak and understand some when I get to France next spring. At least I can say "Je ne comprend pas". Merci!

This Works
I take more coffee breaks now, so that I can hear the next lesson that bit sooner. Pros Content is easy and pleasant to listen to, with some light humour and a steady progression. Result? I now speak the language well enough to truly enjoy meeting a native French speaker. Cons I just have a slight caffine addiction to sort out now :). Hey Mark, I can also do the same in Spanish (Thanks to you), Any chance of Coffee Break Italian as I hear the coffee is excellent there? Ian

coffeebreak french
I have attempted to learn french using several well known products on several occasions and have never really been satisfied with the course content or the result. This course focuses on gaining a working knowledge of the language, explaining grammar and pronounciation in an engaging and interesting way that promotes understanding of french grammar and its practical application and thus my ability to construct sentences and expressions in new situations when using french for real. I have recommended this, and a related podcast coffee break spanish, to numerous friends and all are equally impressed with the quality of these radio lingua products.

Its very fun and enjoyable and doesnt require you to sit down with a book. Its very well paced and I listen to it while walking to work and find it well structured emphasis is given to the pronunciation of tricky words. My French friends have listened to it and have noted how clear Marks accent is and that it is nearly undistinguishable from native French speakers. Annas accent is also excellent - and very cute sounding ;)

This is a very good podcast. The presenters Mark & Anna are very pleasant to listen to, oftentimes funny. and Ive learned so much French in only 20 episodes so far! My native French friend is really very impressed, with my accent particularly. Only tiny "complaint" Id have is not having flashcards... but it wouldnt be a great idea anyways, since I listen in my car during my commute to work. =) Plus, they offer it in the enhanced version. Good job, hope this podcast keeps up the great work!

Bonjour Mark and Anna: I have tried other French podcasts and this, by far, is the most comprehensive. True, everyone learns differently... but I feel the material is presented in a manner that is better suited for optimum retention. I have purchased the extra materials and have finished the first 20 lessons and can say, with little extra studying, have been able to retain everything from all 20 lessons. I feel completely confident I will one day be speaking French fluently; I have not doubt actually. Thank you Mark and Anna, I listen every day on breaks and lunch and follow the PDF files with excitement. It is one of the brightest points in my work day for certain. I work at a university in the states and find your podcasts more effective than even sitting in on French classes during the day on campus. I find my pronunciation is more adept and I am able to recall material at a much quicker rate. Albeit, I am quite a motivated learner in general?I feel these podcasts are structured such that anyone, even those less-than-studious in nature, would enjoy and benefit greatly. I am happy to act as an advertisement for your Coffee Break French anytime, dare I say, I am your biggest fan. Bonne Journ?e

I ma an Englishman and married to my French wife for over 50 years. She is no longer laughing at my French! You see when we visit France I do most of the the speaking, directions, enquiries etc., and the locals think my French is great. I can mimic an accent brilliantly, but, my grammar was always awful. Hence my wifes laughter. But, no more, thanks to Coffe Break French and Verbcast I now have a much better grasp of the French language and my wife just smiles now. Thanks! David Huntley Dallas Texas.

Working in an office that interacts with our French office has urged me to learn at least some French so as to better relationships with our co-workers. Ive subscribed to almost all the French Podcasts, and have found this one the most enjoyable, the most encouraging, and the most fun.

This is such a wonderful podcast, I don't even know where to begin. First, it is paced really, really well. There is a lot of repetition, particularly of difficult-to-pronounce words and phrases. Mark and Anna really want to make sure that the listener understands before moving on to the next topic. Second, it's entertaining. Mark and Anna clearly enjoy making the podcast and it ends up making it great. Third, it's useful and practical: words and phrases likely to come in handy are emphasized. Keep it up, guys!

Ive just recently decided to learn French. Of all the tapes and podcasts Ive listened to, this one is my favorite. It is such a simple and fun approach to learn a language. I didnt feel that rush of intimidation or boredom that I did using other podcasts or even the language teaching tapes I got from bookstores. Its an excellent way of learning basic French without a tutor. I would definitely refer it to all my language learning friends!

Jadore Coffee Break French
Awesome podcast! I first started listening to Coffee Break Spanish to brush up on the Spanish Ive learned. Ive always wanted to learn French and when I heard about CBF I jumped at the opportunity to begin. When I started listening I couldnt speak a lick of French, now after 3 months I feel confident enough to engage in a conversation. Mark is a brilliant teacher and goes at a pace to make French accessible to everyone. Great work guys, Thanks from Virginia.

Think You Cant Learn French?
Great podcast! I thought French would be impossible for me to learn because of all the silent letters, but Im doing very well with just a short podcast each week. I went for the extra materials because SEEING things spelled out helps me a lot with this language.

Excellent Podcast !!
I had always wanted to learn a foreign language. Sadly enough, I study in a small Indian town where there are no classes but CBF is the PERFECT tool for learning, as they say, in bite-sized portions. In barely 2 months, I have picked an unbelievable amount of French. Mark and Anna (who conduct the show) are both very likeable and the way each podcast is structured is marvelous, and each one leaves you with more and more knowledge about the podcast. I would recommend this podcast over any other to learn French! Thank you, CBF~!
