| This pod cast features a back and forth banter between Tom (a professional audio reviewer), and Dina (a wife to another professional reviewer). The banter is at times amusing, but there is also from time to time interesting and very technical subjects from audio and hometheater.
In particular I was very interested in what is left out in the conversion to mp3 audio. Tom shared samples of this on his podcast, and on the AVrant home page. Tom will also detail how things work, or often what dosnt work like it is thought too. He talks about developments in the industry, and the implications of those developments. Dina improves the accessability by keeping Tom from being too technical, and keeping him from wandering too deeply into geek speak.

| I listen to the Rant for AV tech commentary. I dont object to being entertained along the way, but when Dina co-hosts about 80% of the program consists of off-topic self-amusement. Dont get me wrong--I find Dina enchanting, but I need less of her on the show. No more bikinis! No more super-hero powers! No more beverage-slurping noises!

| I listened to a bunch of HT podcasts, and this was the one I kept coming back to. Even if a topic doesnt interest me, I will usually laugh at their cynical commentary. Great format, with Dina reigning in the geekiness and bringing Tom down to a level the rest of us can appreciate.

| I have been growing bored of other consumer electronics and tech podcasts that are more like the 6 oclock news... AVRant has a two-person male-female dynamic that ends up being engaging, interesting and educational - without being drab or boring... Plus Dina sounds like a hottie. :-)
