The Unseen World; An Interview with Constance V. Briggs
There is panoply of beliefs, belief systems and claimed experiences around the World of Spirit. Religions have come and gone, while people down the ages are said to have direct experience with everything from ghosts to their idea of an Ultimate Creator. My guest this week is Constance Victoria Brigg. She has created a guide to supernatural Apparitions, Spirits, Angels, and such phenomenon as clairvoyance and automatic writing – all in the same book. It’s entitled, “Encyclopedia of the Unseen World”. Called a “compendium for the Curious and the Clairvoyant”, ‘Encyclopedia of the Unseen World” covers everything literally from A-Z regarding the Afterlife. Constance Victoria Briggs joined us from her home in San Diego. I hope you enjoy the show! Questions/Comments – [email protected]
Welcome Autumn Equinox
The Wheel turns once again and we approach the Autumnal Equinox, or what Celtic Wiccans call “Mabon”. Most accounts say the Equinox is on Thursday. 23rd. I think, though, that it’s actually on Wednesday the 22nd, just before midnight Thursday. Anyway, I want to share some thoughts about what the Equinoxes mean for us psychically and spiritually. And also I’ll talk a bit about the God, Mabon. Then, later in the show, I present a ritual appropriate for this time of year. It’s called, “Shedding Skin”, written by Jim Garrison. I found it in the 1997 Llewellyn’s Magickal Almanac. I hope you enjoy the show! Questions/Comments - [email protected]
Yearning for ... The "Holy" Grail
This week we'll talk about the so-called Holy Grail. What is this thing that people through time are supposed to be so enamored of? Did it ever even exist? I say "yearning for" because I think there really is alot more legend romance associated with the Grail than actual fact. So, follow along as we go back to the 13th century and we’ll see if we could make any real sense of it.
Time Off! for Labor Day!
On September 6th we celebrate Labor Day here in the United States and Canada. It’s the traditional end of summer – the time for us all to GET BACK TO WORK. So, for this week’s show, let’s give due consideration to our Working Lives. How we as Pagans relate to the mundane problems of work? How do we, as Pagans, find meaning in our work? Or let’s broaden that, and ask how we in the modern world approach meaning in our work. Or – is meaning in work a complete illusion? Is small-scale farming the only honest work for a Pagan; or do we all have to run our own occult shops? Some of us have some real psychic talent, but most of us really don’t. What do The Gods ask of us as we lead our day to day lives? That’s the question that we should ask ourselves, and I’m going to do my best to offer some answers - or at least direct you to some sources for answers - over the course of this week’s show. I hope you enjoy this week's show. Feel free to share any thoughts at [email protected]
An Interview with Robert J. Denhem
There is a new generation of people across the Western world who have grown up Pagan. Such people are able to give our movement – and life in general – a new and refreshing point of view. My guest this week is one such person. Robert J. Denhem is an accomplished artist and sculptor. Originally from England with Irish ancestry, Robert now calls Ontario, Canada home. His new book, “Wind in the Attic” is a personal account of his growing up Pagan, and more. As he askews “isms” and religious dogma he presents for you a personal Magickal system that centers on Chaos Magick and Elven High Magick. Robert J. Denhem joins us from his home in London, Ontario for the first part of the show. Then later on, The 23rd of August marks the Ancient Greek holiday of Nemesia, - the festival of the Goddess Nemesis - the Goddess of Fate. So I’ll to spend some time talking about what we mean by “FATE”. Then we’ll take a look at the Tarot Trump card known as The Wheel of Fortune. Recent Comments for The Spiral Dance with Hawth...
