I just returned home from work, and received an email from a band who had submitted their music to me for Insomnia Radio...

He mentioned that he had just read the new Wired magazine, with the cover story of "The End of Radio..." ... and that I was quoted in it...

I'm banging my head against a wall because there is NO WHERE this time of night for me to pick up the mag...

Has anyone read the article?

Argh...But if it's true I'll throw out a "hells yea!"

*laugh* I had gotten my copy but had not opened it yet.

The section reads like this:

""Podcasts mix nerdy awkwardness with gems you would never stumble upon
on the FM Dial. On Insomnia Radio, host Jason Evangelho confesses,
"I'm talking really quietly tonight because my family is sleeping
upstairs" Then he proceeds to play one of the coolest songs you've
never heard: "Signing Emo" a spot on parody of the music industry by
MC Lars.""

Not the best of quotes, but still it's a quote in Wired which rocks!

Major props to CC for cracking the mag open this morning and making me smile.

I agree man: terrible quote...Um, I do not have an upstairs, and WOW that is an old episode...

But this is certain: I am a happy man. As is MC Lars. And I need to go change my pants.....

Just read it as well...GREAT ISSUE, especially if you hate radio. They talk about a lot Indie music, Satellite Radio, and most importantly....Podcasting (with Adam Curry featured).

Yeah there much be a huge lead time for Wired articles because even the stuff with Curry was extremely dated.

But, it was great to see podcasting mentioned right along side all the other radio killers.

Yeah, at LEAST two months lag time.
The quote they extracted from Insomnia Radio was episode 10, probably 9 or 10 weeks ago.

Still, despite the per-usual over emphasis on Adam Curry, it was a solid article. One that will hopefully help to penetrate podcasting a little further into the mainstream....

Hi,

Prolly a stupid question, but then again, I really haven't got a clue. I'd like to read the article in Wired, but is it a real magazine or an online one?

I can't seem to find the article, so could someone post a link here or maybe a scan of the article? I don't live in the States but in Holland so if it's a "real" paper magazine I can't get a copy.
