A buddy and I are very close to launching our own daily podcast. We are both seasoned stand up comics with previous radio experience, so we definitely have what it takes to deliver daily content. Our concern, however, is the business side of podcasting. We are no comedy amateurs and would love to make about $4,000/month (total, not for each of us) in advertisers/sponsors and of course an online store, which is what we would be giving up from "road" money in order to do our daily cast. I know this may seem unreasonable, but I'm pretty sure more successful podcasts pull in at least that (Corrolla, Dahl, KatG, etc.). It may seem easier to come out with a weekly podcast at first, to build our audience, but we are pretty dead set on coming out with a daily show right out the gate. What would be the best way to promote the daily cast to make sure our show isn't DOA, and also, who are the more lucrative sponsors that we should look into for trying to reach our monetary goal?
