Can anyone explain (or direct me to an explanation) of the embedded program information in podcasts? I know about ID3 tags, but iPods offer a lot more information (in iTunes it is in the podcast field called "Description"). I'm amazed that no other brand of MP3 player or phone/music player displays the information that Apple products do.Is it possible that this is proprietary to Apple? (How did Apple get NPR and the BBC to enter all that program info if it is proprietary?) I also have not found any MP3 software for the computer that will display that information. I ask this to find out if I HAVE to use Apple products if I want that information, or if there a chance of some other company offering the information on their players.

On www.itbende.nl (http://www.itbende.nl/) we use Powerpress http://www.blubrry.com/powerpress/ (http://www.blubrry.com/powerpress/) to add this info. We even put a creative commons licence in the MP3 file. We do this with our Streamlook code. If you need more info please let me know.
