Hi everyone:
First off....Mods, I'm not exactly sure where the best place for this might be, so feel free to move this to a better place if needed. Also feel free to edit the subject header & sticky this for the benefit of other podcasters in the same boat as I am.
With that out of the way, I'll start.....
I'm looking at relaunching my political podcast (Yet again!) as well as launching a sports podcast BUT instead of having just me talking into a microphone and/or having my face shoved into my webcam just ranting about my opinions, I thought of having cohorts to keep the listener & viewer entertained.
That said, here's what I have in mind.....
THE SPORTS BAR - Pretty self-explainatory in and of itself. Topical discussion of sports news & issues with the feeling of being in a sports bar or a Hooters, only with an edgy attitude & approach (Read GUY/THOM GIRL TALK).
THE LEFT WING CONSERVATIVE - Political talk show set in a cafe akin to a combination of a StarBucks (http://www.starbucks.com/) & a Souper Salad (http://www.soupersalad.com/)s or other similar place (For those who don't know what Souper Salads is, it's basically a family-oriented restaurant akin to Old Country Buffet (http://www.countrybuffet.com/) but with the focus being on soups, salads & a few trinket baked goods like muffins and such).
Both shows will have caller interactivity via BlogTalk Radio (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/) while the hosts are connected to each other via Skype. They'll also be streamed live on their respective radio stations in addition to BlogTalk Radio (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/). In addition, my face will be shown on their respective TV stations, which will be powered by LiveStream (http://www.livestream.com/).
Both shows will also have a VR prescence via ActiveWorlds (http://www.activeworlds.com/). I already have a build for TSB on AW, although I have yet to build something for TLWC there (That said, I could probably make use of an old pre-existing build as it fits what I have in mind to a T). If I can get cohosts on there, I'll likely show that instead using ManyCam (http://www.manycam.com/) capturing the ActiveWorlds (http://www.activeworlds.com/) browser as a full window.
That said, if a couple/few people want to create builds for both shows on SL & maintain them, I'd be open to that as then this way, both shows would have a prescene on the two biggest 3D chat universes on the net. ;)
Anyway.....If you might be interested, please reply here or PM me. I'll get back to you ASAP! I only need a few people & this will go to other places, so this goal will probably be achieved rather quickly as I'd hate to be doing either or both shows solo with just the callers on BTR. That'd be boring IMO.
