I currently have
- PC Laptop
- M-Audio Fast Track Pro
- Xenyx 802
- Iphone 3g
- EV 767 mic

Software
- Audacity and Live 6
- Skype, LAME, SkypeCap

I can't seem to get this all working right to record phone interviews.
Would it be easier to use an iphone app to record the calls and then bring into Audacity? Seems my cell quality is better than Skype.

My podcast format is based upon industry experts and interviews, so it's a big deal. But of course I have bought this much gear and am not sure if I want to spend a ton more. What do I do?

Huh? My question doesn't pertain to help using the forums, rather help using my gear.

Always use the best quality Skypecap can offer (I have no expierience with it). Then import it into audacity. When the show is all done, then mix down to the mp3. If you are having issues with differnet volume levels check out the Levelator (http://www.conversationsnetwork.org/levelator) Another key is if you interviewee is on a phone DO NOT let them use a cell phone. It will sound bad no matter what you use.

I really like audacity, but it locks up my computer, and then I lose what I was recording. It's annoying, but it is free!
