When I plug in any mic into my soundcard, i get huge feedback. SO much that I can't even hear myself over it.

I was wondering if instead of buying a new soundcard I should get an audio adapter that plugs in via usb and the my mic to it.

Would this solve the problem?

The obvious, just in case, question first: Are you using headphones? If you're using speakers and a mic that can cause feedback.

If you aren't - is it feedback or lots of static-ey noise? If your computer has onboard sound or a low-end sound card it may not be shielded very well, and could be causing lots of noise. In this case, a USB interface (or good USB mic) would help.

Here's a clip...

When I record with my mic, this is how it comes out.. listen to it and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm reading from some site.

Would you say I need a new sound card or a mic?
