I'm looking for a overhead headphone to use with my ipod and computer at home. I want something that have overall balanced, great deal and good comfort. My ideal range would be around $200-$500. I have some friends suggest the Japanese brand Audio-Technica ATH-A950LTD (https://www.warehouse123.com/ProductInfo.php?pid=AUTATHA950LTD-BLK). Anyone have any suggestions for this model?

I have had several headphones over the last 20 years. My favorite is the Sennheiser HD 580, but it won't give you a good volume level with the iPod. The headphones I now use for my podcast are a pair of AKG k 280 that are great for studio work when they are plugged into the mixer which has a headphone output.
When I started my podcast I was just using my laptop to record it and so I used a pair of Koss PortaPro headphones and they worked quite well. I originally bought these in 1990, and they've held up because of a lifetime guarantee. I send them back about every 7 years to be repaired by Koss and I've got a new set.
I've also experimented with several for the iPod...like the Bose in ear and a couple from Sennheiser. I always compare them against the Koss PortPro and end up taking them back.
My recommondation for an all-around iPod/record a podcast headphone would be to give the Koss PortPro's a try. They come with a lifetime guarantee and only cost around $50.00
