I've only just started using podcasts and am trying to find out what software to use to run downloaded video podcasts - like those produced by CNN, CBS etc?
I'm using iTunes 4.9 on my G4 PowerBook OS 10.3.9 - which works fine for audio, but what about those video podcasts? None of the details of the three Mac applications recommended here seem to mention video.

Whoops. Just found out that if you locate the downloaded file in the finder and double click, it plays in Quicktime Player in glorious video. <sheepish grin>

Doesn't it always seem to work that way? Right after you ask the question you find the answer. :)
On the off chance you do run across something that Quicktime can't/won't play, I've had good luck with VLC. It's not quite as nice looking as quicktime/itunes, but it'll play just about every video format known:

Best of all, it's free.

Thanks. I will definitely look that out for other reasons. I later found that iTunes *did* show the video. I just hadn't found how. In fact you interrupted me watching MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on it.
