Seems I cannot find a decent podcasting solution, I am using right now gotomeeting and record a session that way. But what solution do you suggest if the other party does not have a computer microphone and wants to call in via phone? What's a good system without killing the budget.... Either of two ways:

Use a voice modem - depending on the particular modem, there's software that comes with it to use the phone line audio as a recording source.

Use a phone patch and plug it into the mic or line (depending on the particular patch's output level) input on your sound card.

(A capacitor-isolated 600:600 ohm audio transformer makes a quick-and-dirty line level patch.)

If what you want is a way to interview people via the phone, I can give you a solution...not a great solution, but it works and is free. Have the person and yourself call into Free Conference Call (http://www.freeconferencecall.com/). It will save the call as an MP3, which you can download. Ask them to use a LAN phone (not cell phone) if possible. And be ready for low voice levels, and a way to edit/boast them (I use Propaganda for mixing/volume control). If you want an example of how it came out, I tried this for show 2 of my podcast, Erotic World Weekly (warning, adult words and relationships) http://eroticworldweekly.libsyn.com/

I'd love to hear some other solutions though.

Thanks,
Dan

If you have a regular phone line you can use a call recording adapter (http://altoedge.com/callrec/index.html) to record telephone calls.
