Okay, I'm getting a little frustrated here.

I just set up a new website using Wordpress that I'm trying to host a podcast on, and I'm having some serious difficulties.

First, I've used Podpress before and really enjoyed it, but it apparently doesn't work with Wordpress 2.7. I even uninstalled Wordpress and went back a couple of versions, but still no luck.

So now I'm using the Podcasting plugin, which is fine. I submitted my feed to itunes, and everything was fine, except then I noticed that itunes was only showing whichever podcast I had posted last as opposed to showing all of them.

So I switched to Feedburner, hoping that it would help clear that up. Now I'm trying to follow the instructions on changing the itunes feed url. Everything I read says I need to add a line of text into my rss xml file. The problem is that the only xml file I can find on my server has all of the Wordpress info in it.

I'm at a loss. It's a brand new podcast, so losing listeners isn't really a concern. I'm just trying to figure out what to do now.

Do I skip the whole feedburner thing, go back to the original feed and figure out how to get itunes to realize there's more than one file? If so, how do I do that?

Or can someone tell me how to redirect iTunes without a visible xml file to insert the code into?

I tried asking this on the Wordpress google group, but no one answered, so I thought I'd try here.

Thanks!

Matt

I might be able to help if you stuck with wordpress and podpress. i seem to recall a patch to enable podpress to work with newer versions of WP. I'm a couple of revisions back (if it aint broke don't fix it) We are all crossing our fingers that a podpress update will be coming.

I tried the patch, but the patch only works through v2.6. What version are you on? Do you need the patch?

Thanks for the help!

Another option is to:

Make a blog post for each podcast episode (you can keep all these posts together by assigning them to a catagory like "Podcast")
In addition to offering a link to the MP3 file on each blog post, you could also use the audio plug-in to offer a built in audio player.
Write your own feed files. While you could do this with a text editor if you master the XML tagging scheme, I would use feed writer software. I have used "FeedForAll" (http://www.feedforall.com/) for years and it works like a champ. It costs $40 but it gives you total control over your feed.

This costs a little and takes some extra work but will have better control over the podcast. It also does not add a lot of extra code and overhead to your Wordpress files.

Good Luck

From the looks of this post (http://www.podcastalley.com/forum/showthread.php?t=145538), it is dead (for 2.7)and not coming back. The poster suggests an alternative (powerpress)
