MixPad is a very powerful program. Multitrack recording and editing, importing of nearly any type of sound file, and a nice set of effects make this a great choice for podcasters to produce some truly great sounding shows. Relatively easy learning curve, but for those who might lack experience with recording or sound editing, the help system is quite adequate. Most of what you may want to do can be done right inside the main program, but for some editing tasks, an external (but seamlessly integrated) wave editor opens. The drawback: The wave editor (WavePad) is a separate program you'll have to buy.
The price is fairly reasonable, given it's power. It's normally $76, but it seems every time you look around they are offering some kind of discount. You can try it out, with NO disabled functionality, for 30 days to see if it suits your needs. Yeah, I've found somewhat better programs while searching for the ideal, but for the price, MixPad is very hard to beat.
