If you're a serious podcaster, you view the stats for every podcast downloaded.

For the past 3 years we've relied on Radiotail. Well, Radiotail is discontinuing their great free service with no explanation. This leaves us looking at other statistics serving options. After a long extensive search, some are poor and not worth implementing while others charge a nominal fee.

All we want are simple statistics to count a podcast download...not interested in what downloaded our files or what OS or what country, we just wanted to know how many downloads a specific MP3 file was downloaded.

This simple (and free) software with a mod_rewrite on your server does the trick: http://htmlfixit.com/free.php#down_counter

If you're not into PHP, installing a script or don't know about mod_rewrite, email me privately and I can help you out.

Blubrry and Podtrac still provide free stats.

I am new to the distribution and measurement of podcasts. It is unfortunate your trusted resource is shuttering its doors. Can you share with me some of the other measurement tools that can be employed (and managed by) people like me?

Thanks,
Tina

Google Analytics and Wordpress have some great stats built in and that's all free.
