I was thinking the same thing, but why bother? Most new posters don't seem to care about where to put their content, or aren't even aware that it does matter. I guess the original poster isn't only new to podcasting, but also new to online communities and their netiquette.

I'll be curious if he even returns to see if anyone responded.

actually, im not new to the online community at all, to podcasting yes but not to forums. if you look like below my post, their is a guy doing the exact same thing, so im kind of curious as to why you give me a hard time for it but not him. Also i did look for the correct place for it but could not find it so i posted it here seeing as someone else did it...talk about a rude response...
thank you for directing me to the right spot EndGame
rasheed, you could have handled that in a way better way, i am not new to online communites, every forum is different and guess what, im new here too.

Welcome to the world of podcasting! Where ideas are cheap, reputation is gone with a click of a button, money is always in short supply and you only get one shot to get it right. For most it is heaven on earth, for some it is a world of pain that only gets worse.
[drum roll]
Now listen how a newbie falls flat on his face, because he did it all wrong in his first post.
________
How's that for a welcoming message? ;)
Welcome to this fun crazy forum we call home!

Well, I'd like to know what previous post you're talking about so I can correct them. I'd also suggest you read the descriptions of the forums, because everything is labeled -- in the case of this particular forum it is a little vague, but the New Show Announcements thread is pretty clear.
So yes, you're within your rights to think some people were rude, but so are we to think you were rude, or didn't care -- you obviously didn't read the forum titles, so how hard could you have looked?

The proper forum IS called "New Show Announcements". Seems fairly self-explanatory and hard to miss ... but that's just me.

I would also point out that when I copy/pasted your URL (normally, you really should make that a working link), all I got was the Podbean home page. You might need to look into that if this is a new occurrence. My guess is that you entered the wrong numerical address when mapping the URL to your registrar's DNS servers.

You ARE a newbie. You said so yourself.
Additionally, as you admitted, what you requested was not the same as the poster who started the other thread. He asked for specific feedback about his voice. You, on the other hand, said you had a new show and wanted people to "take a listen".

Hey TechBabble,
You shouldn't be too hard on the people who try to steer you in the right direction. Comments are generally helpful... but people will tell it like it is. Don't give up either man. When you put yourself out there you open yourself up to a world of bashing and the best way to deal with it is just to realize your going to screw up and for the first while all you'll get is "you suck newbie." How you choose to respond also counts.
Anyway, we'll sent a shout out to you on our podcast (not that it's worth that much since we're not exactly commanding any traffic yet). Keep at it.
My suggestion: keep it short and sweet, and produce regularly... but then again that's a completely biased opinion because I have a directory that's based around those kind of shows. haha :)

The difference is that he was asking for an opinion about something specific (his voice). You were just casting a net looking for feedback/listeners. That might not seem like a huge difference, but it is.
