Two thoughts -
1. It sounds like the sort of terrible tactics Scientology has practiced other places. This is why so many anti-cult organizations feel the need to take them on.
2. Just from reading your episode blurb... What would you expect? Post in that tone about any religion or ideology and you will deeply offend some people.
What homework did you do before going into this? What reaction did you expect to get?

You have a point, we should have expected such things. Didn't realize how podcasts got around. God bless the RSS Feed!

There's always going to people taking offense one way or another, you just have to smile and move on, of course taking legitimate complaints into consideration. When I was working at ChinesePod, we released a podcast about Chinese food. During the podcast, the host mentioned that meat was part of a healthy diet.... you wouldn't believe the emails we got! This one girl was even trying to get animal rights groups to take formal action against the company!

Reactions like that let you know when you've 'made it'....;)

I guess hate mail and death threats go with the territory of being famous, even if it's famous among a small portion of the population.
While many people want to be famous, only a few know from experience or knowledge what it actually is like to be famous. Please, value your anonymity.
