Wow. Lots of spam today. Try this converter, use this ID3 Tag formatter, Put your podcast on this radio station, etc, etc, etc.
Most of these things would seem like decent enough topics (some of them are in the wrong categories, but whatever), but they come across as disingenuous not only because of the poster's low post count, but the posts they've previously posted (also selling something; or at complete odds with each other like the guy who says he's been podcasting for two years in one post, and then says he's just starting in another).
<soapbox>
If you see yourself in this post, and you're offended because you aren't a spammer, then maybe you need to reconsider the way in which you post. Especially in this forum. This would be a great place to discuss the issues of podcasting or solicit each other for help if it weren't for all the garbage posts spattering the boards. It's time to think of your fellow community members and the community as a whole.

I'm a new small business owner, podcaster, and podcast listener. The other day I was trying to figure out where I could learn about how to be a good small business owner. Then I stumbled across a great podcast called Startup BizCast. It teaches you everything you want to know! You really should check it out -- www.startupbizcast.com (http://www.startupbizcast.com)!

Be glad you don't get spit yet (spit is spam over Internet technology). Now that's really annoying, because they invade your privacy. Spit gives a bad taste in your mouth.
BTW I have reported some of the spam on the forum to the admin, The Ferf.

Good post!
I don't agree with all of your points, but they make me think.

It's hardly spam. :confused: What exactly am I selling?? And how exactly am I benefitting from my post?
You gotta see these spambots at work. Your post wasn't advertising anything, but a spambot (specially written to look for your post and reply to it) COULD, and it would look like spam.
It's spam 2.0, to go along with web 2.0.
We just see it every day. Sometimes 10-20 times a day. Your post had some of the telltale signs. It's really good to know you're a real human, and I hope you stick around. Podcasting doesn't have to be a solitary experience. In fact, it's the least solitary thing I do these days.

Yeah, I see myself :) Here I am:
I think the posts you are talking about are, um, two years apart. Check the dates. Honest.
D'oh! Truthfully, yours' was not the first post I saw that was shoveling spam, so when I saw yours pushing something in a suspiciously worded fashion along with the low post count, I assumed the worst. Obviously a mistake on my part. I apologize sincerely.
Now, I will say this about your solitude, my friend: If all you do is post in the New Show Announcements thread or only post 4 times in two years (before today), then you're getting what you pay for. You've got questions about using Feedburner? All you have to do is ask and have the patience to wait for an answer. You want a community? Then you have to participate.
Peace,
Eric

What is it you don't get about Feedburner? I might be able to help.
