I recently tried to record a an odd interview setup with limited success.
My usual setup is a typical "double-ender"; my co-host and I are in different cities, so we do a Skype conversation, recording quality sound at each end (Audio Hijack Pro on the Mac). He sends me his audio and I mix the two in post.
For a recent show, we wanted a guest at his end. We got almost everything working.
After some struggle, we got both of his USB headsets feeding into Garage Band (using Audio MIDI Setup to create an aggregate device) and recording on separate tracks. But through Skype, I could only hear one of the two of them. And only one of them could hear me. In other words, although Garage Band worked well with 2 headsets, Skype would only work with one headset.
Anyone out there ever have success with a setup like this?
