Hi im a total newbie and would like some advice please.
The situation is I have created some 60 min mp3 shows and I have my own forum and website. I want to display the mp3 on a webpage for download and let the members be able to subscribe to the feed also. I have limited knowledge on html and that kind of thing so please go easy but how do I go about having a subscribe link and download link for the podcast please.
Thanks so much
John

Hi John,
The short answer is, there is no easy road. There's a learning curve that must be traversed before you can get your mp3 files into a podcast for your listeners to enjoy (and, hopefully, tell others about so they can enjoy it too).
A pretty good starting point is http://podcast411.com where you'll find some tutorials. They helped me a lot when I started oh so many years ago. There may be something better out there now, but I don't do much looking these days.

I have two more useful links, Podcasting Tips (http://www.kunaland.com/page11.html) and How To Podcast (http://www.how-to-podcast-tutorial.com/index.htm). Indeed there is a learning curve. If you're a slow learner, like me, it can take up to 2 years before you have what it takes to create a podcast. Most people only seem to need a few months to solve their technical and artistic problems.
I know from experience that having the right idea is the hardest part of starting to podcast. Go and ask Cali Lewis (Luria Petrucci) how long they waited before she and Neil Campbell started Geekbrief. They knew nothing about podcasting or video editing, and their first (audio) podcast failed.
So, it seems the tech stuff is solvable, but the creative stuff isn't. You must have a good idea, that is flexible enough to work in the real world of podcasting. Podcast listeners are ruthless, they unsubscribe if they don't like what you're doing, and probably will never come back. If you're lucky, they take the time to say that you suck. If you're even more lucky, they 'll tell what you should do to your show to make it more successful.
But don't wait too long to get your show perfect. Like they say, give me a plan, so I can say it is no good, because I can't judge the plan that is in your head.
