Hi guys.
I have a podcast where I interview people on Skype. However, I simultaneously play sound effects while the interview subject is on skype.
Is there a way to get the people I'm talking to on Skype to hear the sound effects/music I'm playing on my computer?
I use an IMac.
I posted a topic similar to this a few weeks ago, but it go way off-topic and the original discussion was left in the dark. Any help or direction at all would be appreciated!

Here is a possible solution:
Audio recording of a Skype podcast with mix minus
(http://sclipo.com/video/audio-recording-of-a-skype-podcast-with-mix-minus)
You will need:
a computer
a mixer with auxiliary input and output
a digital recorder
some cables
a second computer for the additional audioI think you can replace the second computer with a second sound card, like the Griffin iMic, but that isn't mentioned in this video. The input of the iMic could possibly also be used to return the main mix to the computer. If that is possible, you could leave out the digital recorder, and record on the iMac. However, I think it is always good to have a backup recording, in case your software crashes. I have had crashes with both Garageband and Audacity, so this is something which might happen during a Skype recording.
Anyway, I think you can't do this without a mixer with aux in/out, but I could be wrong.

I would also mention that this post is of a technical nature and would be better placed in the "Technical Discussion (http://www.podcastalley.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=240)" forum.
This forum is for less specific issues related to podcasting. You know, the grand idea of podcasting, versus the nuts and bolts of how to do something.
Just a suggestion,

Hi guys!
Thanks for the responses - they're appreciated!
It seems like a lot of work for something that "seems" essentially somewhat simple.
Ahhhh, all I want to do is have the caller recipient hear my sound effects!!

It would be simpler if you didn't have to worry about feedback or echoes on the recording. But unfortunately you do.

And don't forget, the person on the other side has to something to prevent feedback as well (e.g. listen via headphones instead of speakers). This complicates matters as well, because not everyone understands why that is, so you need to explain it in simple terms.

Mind you, Voice Emotion (http://www.voiceemotion.com/) is Windows only, which requires a Windows license on the iMac, and running either Boot Camp or some virtual machine (VM Fusion or Parallels). And, of course, running anti-spyware and anti-virus software to prevent crap infecting your Windows system.
