Hello All, what are the different options to use movie sound clips to incorporate into a podcast. Can I somehow download from youtube and convert to MP3's.

How do you guys do it.

Thanks...

If you want to pay the royalty rates, sure.

I would open my downloaded or ripped audio in my audio editor, trim down the clip, and save as an uncompressed WAV file.

Yeah, you have to be very careful with copyrighted material.

I use short clips on my show, because UK law permits me to for current events reporting and/or reviewing (it's called fair dealing or fair usage, your local law will be different, so check). I have to remember to attribute the work to the correct people, and I have to be ready to remove the offending material if the copyright holder asks me to. If you're using clips for those sorts of reasons, then you might be covered by your local laws. But find out.

Erm, anyway. I've recorded a few clips off YouTube before by setting the record device on my sound blaster to "What You Hear", playing the clip and recording into Goldwave (the recording application isn't really important though).

It's a dirty, simple method but it gets the job done with minimum fuss. If you do it this way, remember that you're recording every sound your computer makes, so if you get a messenger notification or an error message it'll show up on the recording.
