Newbie

Hello:

I'm a total newbie to podcats. I've read the FAQ and done a google and looked at the podcast entry on Wikipedia but still don't understand some basic things about how they work.

In particular, I was listening to a podcast from Podcast Alley this morning. I had seen something I wanted to listen to and clicked on the 'download' button. However, it didn't download but opened in a new window.

I listened for ten minutes but then someone called and I had to switch off. Now I reopen it and there seem to be no options to fast forward etc.

How can I download a file so I can listen to it as mp3 on my normal music programme and move around in it?

You have 3 options when it comes to listening to podcasts on Podcast Alley (and on most websites)

1. use the built in player by clicking "listen"
2. right click on the "download" link and select the "save to desktop" option
3. download a podcast downloading application from here (http://www.podcastalley.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=108) and subscribe to the show and they will automatically be downloaded for you
