View Full Version : Anyone else not getting emails?

Ever since your big upgrade to the new forum, I am not getting email notifications of PMs or topic replies. I've checked my spam filters on my email accounts and attempted to get some help from my ISP in determining if they block you guys (Charter.net says they don't think so). Maybe if there's filtering or blocking going on, it's on PCA's side, or your ISP's?

Oddly enough the only email I've received since the change-over was from what looks like a different forum installation: The Tutorials board (http://www.podcastalley.com/forum/showthread.php?p=612920#post612920) to be exact.

I've mentioned this before and was told it was on my ISP's end, but now that I've had some corroboration on at least part of the problem, I don't think it's just me. For further evidence, look at the lack of activity on the forums.

So it's time to look a little more deeply into this and ask if others are having problems, and to investigate as to whether or not this is why the forums are so dead lately. No more assuming it's the end-user. There's a problem on PCA's end.

Thanks for the help.

Eric

From looking through the logs (I'm also the mail admin), there appears to be an issue with whichever mail server software you're using.

ewyeth@wyethdigital.com::Remote MX server does not support 8BITMIME::4::4002::030::Default::192.168.XX.XX::65 .254.XX.XXThis is communicated between the servers during the SMTP handshake. If you need more debug info from me, PM me and we can get an email conversation going. For more on 8BITMIME, the Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8BITMIME) is a good place to start.

Your address is the only one getting the error. :(

Okay, I'll look into that some more, to see what's up. Maybe see if I can try a different email account.
