Hey there,

Anyone know of a Podcasting client that allows the user to select (like check box) once a download has been listened to?

I am looking for an easy way to keep track of what I have and haven't already listened to, so that when I do a manual sync on my player I can just delete the old stuff and add the new.

I manage my podcasts from my work PC and music form my home, so I can't just sync to a directory (letting it delete stuff that isn't there) or it would delete all my music which the client wouldn't find on my work PC.

Please let me know if anyone knows a good way to accomplish that or if I should clarify further.

THX!

iTunes does that quite nicely. Oh, and automaticly too.

Let me describe the play-flow I would like. I don't think iTunes would allow this:

- Download podcasts on work PC.

- Copy podcasts to non-ipod PMP (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8001271&type=product&id=1155072368870) which already has music on it which has been copied from home PC.

- Listen to podcasts on PMP

- View descriptions of podcasts I have already downloaded and decide if those were listened to via my PMP. If they were check a "listened to" box.

- download new podcasts on work PC.

- Sync my PMP with my work PC.
* "Listened To" podcasts are deleted from PMP
* Unlistened to podcasts are not deleted from PMP
* Newly downloaded podcasts are coppied to PMP
* Music is left untouched

Is this possible with iTunes? Anyone know if it can be done with something else?

Thanks

I don't think it can be done with itunes (at least not automatically), or any other program. This looks more like a function of what your device's firmware will allow. For example, Apple let's you assign one computer as it's "home." That's just not iTunes telling it that, it's programmed into the iPod itself. It keeps things simple for synching. I think most others do the same thing.

To be sure, you'll likely need to delve into your owner's manual and/or look up lots of FAQ pages on potential software.

My extensive research this week leads me to believe it is something that iTunes can do... but only on an iPod. Darn.

Oh well - If anyone figures ot out, let us know.
