Sorry if this topic has been done loads, as I suspect it might have been! But I did search and couldn't find anything!

Is there some things you should do before submitting your podcast to itunes? I've only got 1 episode up so far. Any other tips appreciated!

PS my podcast is at weareunscene.com

If you can successfully subscribe to your feed using the Advanced menu in iTunes, you?re ready to submit your feed:

Launch iTunes.
In the left navigation column, under Inside the Music Store, click on the Podcasts link to go to the Podcasts page.
In the left column of the Podcasts page, click on the Submit a Podcast link.
Follow the instructions on the [URL="https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast"]Submit a Podcast (http://podcastalley.com/forum/) page.

Well, you're technically ready, yes, but there are some things I would recommend doing before you submit.

First: Make sure you have attractive, good quality, 300x300 pixel artwork. It will help you get noticed.

Second: Make sure you're not using copyrighted works in your podcast or your artwork.

Third: Ask yourself, are you happy with the show you've put out? If you are, then go ahead and submit it. But if you think you would be embarrassed in six weeks because your shows production values aren't up to par, then get a couple more shows done before you submit it. Get in some practice and make some improvements. You only get one chance to make a first impression, and since most folks in iTunes download the most recent show, make sure it's something you're proud of.
