Hey everyone. First post here. Just wanna say that some of the topics around here have greatly helped me fine tune the quality of my podcast. Thank you so much.

I want to tickle your brain on how to conduct a live podcast. Our show would like to experiement with this as our listener base is just exploding. We have all the bandwidth needed as well as a solid 3mb upload speed from a local machine. How can we conduct a live show? Can anyone point me in a direction? Is there any cons to this idea that I am not thinking about? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

One way to do live podcasting would be to use Talkshoe.com

Thanks. I was looking at Talkshoe.com and it seems like it has what we need, but the sound quality of the stream is not good at all.

For what it's worth, I have Darwin Streaming Server at my disposal via Dreamhost. I just need a good software (Windows) that will allow me and another participant (1000 miles away from me) to serve up a stream to Darwin?

You can use VoIP to contact TalkShoe and have a better sounding show. Or you can record yourself on your end of the line.

You can have all sides record localy then send them to a centeral person who can "master" it.

I suggest contacting your host about the software requirements because you'll need some kind of proxy program to feed the streaming server. They may also have it only set up to stream existing files via playlists like m3u files.

I've read Online Broadcasting Power, and live streaming still comes across as exceedingly difficult to deploy because you'd need your host to support it or possibly be nice enough to configure it for you.
