Hey All,

How-To is now on TiVO through TasteTV as part of an experimental run. If we do well, it's likely we will have more shows on. I don't have TiVO, so don't ask me how to find it through the DVR. I have no clue.

Cool! Is it an easy process? Should I put instructions up on the site?

If you follow the link it takes you to your login on Tivo.com You sign into your account then click on get or something. Next time the Tivo syncs it should download it.

Who knows, there maybe other ways too. Its pretty straight forward.

I should approach them about it. Not only is their logo featured prominently, Madeline's bouncing around pretty good!

So how did it look? Was it a crappy encode, or was it full quality?

I think they need more cheesy public domain movies on there. Preferably hosted by a psycho reverend!

On our HDTV it looked good, maybe Madaline needed a touch more light on her face when she was looking directly into the camera. A very minor thing for sure.

Its looked very good to my eyes.

Well, the opening skit is supposed to be dark and gloomy looking (if you've ever seen the movie "Chocolat" you'll know what we were going for). In general, when I color correct, I tend to lean to the darker side when I'm posting web video because when I compress, the codec seems to brighten things up a shade... so yeah, I can see it being a shade darker than what you might be used to compared to broadcast TV.

I'm relieved that the picture looked good, though! Thanks for checking out it for us!

Well it was a minor thing for sure so don't sweat it. Made me want to see more.

Sure thing. I just think it's helpful to know. That's the kind of feedback I was hoping for. I'll just remember to render two versions... one with broadcast-safe color correction and one with a darker gamma for the intertubes.

I totally agree with you Eric, they DO need me hosting cheesy B-movies :)

My wife and I are saving for a flat panel hi-def, and after that, a AppleTV, so I will be able to watch Cult of UHF on my TV before summer's end! :)

Have you looked at services like "Akimbo," (http://www.akimbo.com/) Rev? If you can't get on TiVO, maybe on a cable Video On Demand service.

We have yet to try it because I'd have to encode into Windows Media 9 to use Akimbo, but that's one of our goals.
