Hello All,

I'm posting this as a courtesy to any of our subscribers that frequent these boards and may be affected by some recent changes. Thank you for your understanding!

If you subscribe to our full quality DiDGU.com feed, you're probably wondering what's happening with it. We noticed a couple of days ago that we could not reach the website, and the RSS feed that iTunes and other programs use to collect the videos was listed as invalid. We were not initially concerned, because as does occasionally happen with high-traffic sites there are sometimes outages.

Unfortunately, the outages that DiDGU is experiencing may be more severe and possibly permanent. After a friendly exchange with our contact at DiDGU, it appears that they've been forced to shut down DiDGU.com. I'm told that there's a chance that it's not permanent, but it could be. In any case, we don't expect an immediate change to DiDGU's status any time soon.

If you are one of DiDGU's subscribers, we apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment you feel about this. Both Madeline and I share your frustrations. We really loved the technology that DiDGU was built on, and were looking forward to the opportunities that DiDGU presented us. And the videos looked great!

We were not tied financially or legally to DiDGU, and their status does not affect ours. We're in full gear at How-To! We will evaluate other high-end delivery options as we find them, so that we may once more present the highest quality version of How-To available on the internet!

Thanks,

Eric Wyeth
and
Madeline Merced

These guys were not too business-savvy. They made some unfortunate errors in their business plan early on, like trying to field their own exclusive sales team among others. Probably a bad sign, as well, was their refusal (inability?) to pay suppliers and consultants.

Chad had a great idea and I hope someone else buys the technology. Too bad his backing came from a get-rich-quick family member who was in over his head.

RIP Didgu.com.

Were you one of those suppliers or consultants? ;)

I never got the impression from the people that I personally dealt with that they were unwilling to pay for anything. But I never dealt with the family member who backed the venture, so I couldn't speak to his motives.

I personally feel that their big mistake was not publicizing well. I never saw or heard of one press release that they released, and I would Google for it from time-to-time. They also should have tried to get in on some of those VC conferences that take place in areas like NY or CA; to see if they could get some venture capital funding. I hate to say, counting on one family member and his banker to fund a start-up was a little naive.

Maybe you need to click the Portuguese Translation link.

Or maybe it's spam.

So true. I didn't notice that at first.
