Actually, what makes a show 'top rated' for this forum?

I'm not being sarcastic. I'm really asking.

I see a bunch of stuff that's not in the top 10, so what makes it top rated?

I hereby decree that Marijuana Radio is the MOST top rated podcast about marijuana.

Therefore, post away for Marijuana Radio.

Who is the 'authority' on top rated?

It wouldn't be that bad if that marijuana chick didn't spam everywhere in every thread and post. I think she abused a little...

I agree conceptually with you about what constitutes a "top rated" show, Paul. And I know Holly got the message about her enthusiastic posting frenzy, so I won't say any more on that. After all, we forgave the Rumor Girls when they did the same thing, right? Heck, Holly's in good company!

I just think there's a fine line between promotion and real discussion. And this goes for everybody, not just Holly, not just me or you. This is a general thought of mine (which may be off base): If you're going to talk about top rated shows (or any shows), it's kind of tacky to boast yours up without actually providing a topic to discuss. For example, did your podcast cover a topic that would be interesting to discuss? What is it? Did your show benefit or suffer from a change in quality or format? Is there specific feedback you're looking for? Was your podcast reviewed? Those are the kinds of things that I can see being brought up here, not the "lookit my show!" post. Those should be in the New Show Announcement thread. I think that's all some of us were saying.

I generally agree with you, Eric.

I get carried away by exitement sometimes because I 'really' want people to give a listen.

I believe in what we're doing.

Marijuana Radio has a buzz around it unlike Barefoot.

Speaking topically, 'marijuana' in the title has had a powerful result, and so has having a female host on a show about marijuana.

Shallow or not, people connect with 'marijuana,' and that was part of what went into the conception and development of this idea. I wanted a demographic that is a silver bullet, and it seems to be working.

It's true, I'm tacky sometimes.

Well, it's a good concept for a show, one which certainly should generate a lot of buzz (no pun intended).

I personally don't agree with everything I've heard so far, but I'm not a big fan of pot to begin with, so the show isn't aimed at me. Still, I do think issues like pot as medicine and bio-mass are worth the air time, even if I don't agree with it as a recreational aid.

The odd irony about me producing this show is that I don't agree with the 'wisdom' of recreational use. I completely defend the right to do it though, but basically realize the total lack of wisdom there is burning sh*t up into your lungs.

I am also a bit ironic in my perspective that I don't necessarily want it legalized. I feel that legalizing pot may have some other 'legal' fallout that makes life for potsmokers as a whole more difficult, shamed, or ruined. The law always finds some way to shame the pot smoker or drinker for a lifestyle choice that I will NEVER acknowledge is any of their business.

I would like it legal to grow and smoke pot for my own use. The earth gave it to me. Curse the federal government for their wasteful, immoral stupidity.

Unlike medical growers who take the risk to grow dope, my advice always is NOT to do it. If it's not legal on the federal level, it's NOT legal. A state's right isn't crap under the shadow of the federal government in this regard.

Yes, I said it! CURSE the federal government for ruining the lives of good people for a relative social ideal.

SMOKING POT IN AND OF ITSELF DOESN'T MAKE ANYONE A BAD PERSON.

BUT A PODCAST ABOUT SMOKING POT SURE MAKES FOR A STRONG AUDIENCE DEMOGRAPHIC, and a prolific community.

(I'm just stating this and not attacking your perspective, Eric. Sincerely, I respect your perspective).

Not offended in the least, Paul. Like I said, I don't agree with it as a recreational use, but I have no problem with medical uses or bio-mass.

Just to clarify my stance, I think cigarette smoking as a recreation is also borderline retarded, and do so for many of the same reasons I feel pot smoking is. When you smoke pot you're sucking burning, unfiltered smoke into your lungs. Within that smoke are impurities that can carry carcinogens. Every single one of my grandparents (including step grand parents) died of smoking related cancer, and I have relatives with other smoking related health problems; I just attended the funeral of a co-worker who died of lung cancer, and we have a family friend who has it as well, so you're not going to get me to change my mind about that. I won't budge. But on other issues, as long as the facts are presented without fabrication, I'm pretty open minded. Got an argument for legalizing it? I'll listen with an open mind, but I might also have a counter point.

Personally, it bears discussion, so I'm glad to see someone taking on the subject matter.

Vaporizing is a great new HEALTHY way to "SMOKE" , but you arent smoking! Just inhaling the THC. No Lung cancer there! This is a great way for MEDICAL MARIJUANA PATIENTS or any smokers to INHALE. No risk of lung cancer.

It is a wonderful healing plant, that has saved my life! I was taking oxycontins twice a day(at 22), now have replaced it with MARY JANE!

PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL! :)

Actually medical marijuana is organically grown and a plant. Not a pharmecutical that has chemicals and horrible side effects.

Hey,
Its all about doing what you want, to make life easier and better!
This show is produced very well and the videos are great! Even if you arent a pot lover! Ending the war on drugs is getting closer. This just shows how much support people are giving to help marijuana.

Look out for our interview with Ice Cube and the KottonMouth Kings! It should be a blast! On 4/20 Activist will unite and stand up for our rights.

PEACE!:)

great
