seriously... i just kinda stumbled on this because im a musician and i used to make music with it.
Ableton Live is the software i use for podcasting. when i hook my samson c03u, its a good recording program. but when i hook up my m-audo midi keyboard as well, it makes this program perfect for podcasting. i can upload songs, FX, jingles, interviews, etc into a channel and i can control the playing of each channel with the midi keyboard. i have the keyboard labeled like crazy because i can also change track volume, control the record/stop/play buttons, adjust effects, and anything else that i could possibly change in the program.
i dont know if this post made alot of sense... but... get your hands on a copy of Ableton Live, a samson c03u usb mic, and an m-audio oxygen 8 midi controller... this will allow you to do EVERYTHING live. i dont have to touch my computer at all anymore, everything is done from the midi controller (no loud mouse clicks and keyboard typing). i actually think that the m-audio oxygen 8 comes with ableton live 4 (a few versions old).
but seriously, TRY IT...
