Trying to claim my feed, but I must be doing something wrong

I put the claim code on my blog site about two weeks ago. I have tried several times since then to do the claim bit, but nothing happens. I may have done a bad thing, because I backdated the post where it can be found, and I put it in as HTML - i'm not sure if it should have been put in as raw text.

Any help in getting my claim validated would be appreciated, thanks!

Hey there,

Your claim code has to be in the description tag of an audio or video post to your feed...unfortunately a blog post won't do the trick. Cheers!

I could not get it to work on the blog either. But then I read that the hash could go in the feed as well. I added it to the bottom of my rss.xml feed file and it worked.
