Juice is the best I've found, but as always I want more, and don?t think I?m ungrateful I have donated.
Here are the features for my ultimate podcasting software.
Each subscription is completely manageable with these settings:
-bookmarkable
-skip when shuffle
-keep X # of episodes if rating is 0, delete when rating is 1 star or keep if any other
-add all podcasts of a day in playlist (not downloaded on day x, but made/issued on day x) this may need a tag request from podcast creator
-show up in video/podcast menu of ipod
-all id3 tags can be set
Download podcasts into individual folders into the iTunes music folders that can be then set to sync automatically in iTunes with the "sync all episodes of all podcasts" option. That will take some doing to get iTunes to recognize the files that you do not subscribe to with iTunes.
On download all settings as described above will be set, including changing any of the ID3 info (if desired) to a standard way that you decide, since most podcasters seem to randomly fill out those fields and make them different every time! (Bad podcasters!). Options will include text concatenation, date additions, and text replace.
The files would then be put as bookmarkalbe/skip-on-shuffle files onto my iPod in the menu "Podcast".
Ratings set on iPod and in iTunes tell the software to delete at default settings (# of MB's or # of episodes, or after listening to, etc.) with a rating left at 0, or 1 tells the software to delete immediately, and 2-5 actualy rate. Those files get deleted from the folders and then iTunes recognizes they are gone and nukes them from the iPod. Voila!
Daily collections and/or subscription playlists are made so I can listen to all the BBC World Selects at once, or Friday's set of podcasts all from my different subscriptions.. When all the episodes in one podcast are gone, so goes that playlist.
Please help me find this or someone who will write it! If you agree, join me in my quest and give a shout out!
