Hello, fellows,

I signed up recently to Podcast Alley, and I am a novice of the podcast matter. Well, I uploaded my mp3 file to my provider, made my xml file, validated through some online resources and finally it?s working.

The problem now is that even though it works for downloading, the Podcast Alley PODCAST PLAYER doesn?t play it. Keeps only showing "undefined"...

Thanks in advance.

I can confirm that it does not work in the player. Hitting the MP3 direct link worked fine though.

Hopefully someone can help with an explanation.

Hi dihelson.
Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. I moved this over to our help forum so I can get email notifications of when people respond.

I've taken a look at what's going on and have come up with two possibilities: The first is that your MP3 doesn't have any ID3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ID3) tags. These are what tells the player the name of the track, the artist and everything else (why you are seeing "undefined"). There is a second culprit at work here as well. Your MP3 is recorded/produced at 64kbps - a bit rate that the Wimpy player doesn't handle well. If you could bump your bitrate up to 96kbps, the player should play the MP3.

Please let me know if this information is useful to you.

Hi, BrynM,

Thanks for trying to help me. Indeed, I think you?re right. I don?t remember to put an ID3 tag on my mp3 file. I?ll check this out, and correct. The other possibility, 64k, yes, it?s encoded on 64k, if the first possibility don?t work, I?ll try to re-encode at 96k, just to test.

Thank you so much for your kind and very informative help.
