"Back in 2005 when Patrick and I started Nobody Likes Onions, we had no clue as to what we were doing and why we were doing it. There were these things called podcasts that people were doing where they just talked about random ****. At that time, I was going to school for my Master's degree. Since I was already driving an hour to school, another 10 minutes of drive time to Patrick's wasn't really a big deal. We listened to a lot of different shows and most of them were ****. We figured we could crap out a better show than most, and we did. At that time, my son was 6 months old. Fast forward to today. I'm done with my Master's, no longer driving weekly to Tampa, my son is 2 and we don't expect him to be an only child forever.
If I was a clown or was being paid exclusively to do a show, things might be different. Trying to juggle a weekly show, a full time job, a wife and a son has been hectic to say the least. Its just something I can't keep up and expect to leave with my sanity. My wife, Leah, has been very understanding throughout the entire process, this is entirely my decision. Although, she's happy that I'll be home more (as will I).
Its been fun going from being the butt of jokes to Nick being the butt of jokes, back to me being the butt of jokes. Its been fun connecting with the huge community that shares the same sense of humor that we do. I've met some incredible people from around the world. A lot of generous people felt like we deserved a new studio, or we deserved a trip to California (twice!). I feel like this experience has helped me become a better speaker (sawl), a better story teller, and just more self-confidence than I've ever had.
Thanks to everyone. I know Patrick is planning on taking the show to a whole new level. I'm saddened that I won't be able to be a part of it. You can still reach me at adam@nlo if you feel like it. I will still be on the forums. Still be on AIM, for those who I've added to my buddy list. I'll still be on Xbox Live. I'm not dying, you just won't hear me say "burn" and "sweet" anymore. I will talk to you soon.

Any thoughts on this? Patrick released a show saying that family was not the only reason he quit the show. It looks like NLO might have hit its peak already.
