hi I'm trying to start my own podcast but theres a few things I dont really understand. How do I get a URL link for my podcast? Is that web hosting? If not what is the difference between the two? If I have my own web site what do I need to host it on that? Does anyone know of a free way for me to podcast I have all of the equipment the actual audio radio shows I did are already done I'm really just having a hard time getting them on the internet and these online tutorials are not helping me. I can really use the help.
Thanks

Questions: Do you have your audio files converted to MP3? Do you have a web site now where you can upload your audio files? If you have a web site, does it have blog software installed? (This is not completely necessary, but it's how most do it.) If you have blog software, does it support RSS 2.0 with enclosures?

Web hosting is the server that serves your web pages. Depending on who operates that server and how it's set up, it might or might not have the features you need. There are many, many companies in the hosting business.

If I have my own web site what do I need to host it on that?
Bare minimum: You need a web server, a way to upload your audio files to the server, and a way to create html and xml files. You can create those files with a text editor if you're willing to study the standards documents, but usually people do something a little more elaborate than that.

Does anyone know of a free way for me to podcast?
Someone else might be able to answer this. I know there are some free hosting services, but I don't know anything about them and so can't recommend any.

Which online tutorials were you looking at? Can you describe in more detail what you've tried to do so far?

hey thanks alot for all the info. To clarify a little bit more I have my shows done and they are converted into mp3s thats about as far as I've gotten. I have a web designer making a site for me and we are almost done. Can you tell me what I will need on this site to host my own podcasts on it? What software or what kindof server space will I need?
