I have a podcat myself, about underground hip hop, however I do not know the best ways to crack the top 100.
Any suggestions?

You talking the Podcast Alley Top 100, or the iTunes Top 100? Each one is based off different things, so which ever one you want to beat will determine the answer I could give you.

Or Podomatic.com so is that the top 100 podomatic?

So it sounds like you want to crack the Top 100 of Podomatic's rankings? Do they have a forum? Asking them directly, or talking to their users is probably the best way to get answers about how to effectively use their ranking system.
The thing is, there is no one place to find the top rated podcast. Podcast Alley has their own list, Podcast Pickles has theirs, and iTunes has it's own way to rank podcasts, just like Podomatic does.
If there is one constant among any of them, it's generating exposure and word-of-mouth through either downloads, subscriptions, votes or all of the above. The best way to do that is to be visible in as many places as you can be, and to put out a great show.

How vital is professional artwork? My artwork is pretty bad, and I'm trying to put something new together, but time is of the essence. This is my first post on the Alley, so . . . Hi everyone!!

How important are logos when it comes to advertising? It's pretty much the same thing. Your artwork is your logo. And your logo is probably something you want people to remember. If it really sucks, what does that say about your product?
From a marketing standpoint, I think logos are very important. While I recognize this is a show, it's still a product which you are obviously trying to get people to consume. The logo definitely matters. You might want to invest some time and effort in revamping yours if it isn't up to snuff.

Professional, or "talented amateur" graphics is vital to your podcast. If you're listed in a heavily visual directory like iTunes, attractive artwork can (and does) help you get featured.
Thus far, I've designed all of our artwork from scratch, but that's something I'm good at. If you don't feel you have that talent, I would start a new post in a couple of different communities asking who designed who's artwork. I do know there are some people out there who will do it for a fee. I've just never needed to use them myself.

Artwork and design are always important (I should know - I suck at it). But there are many places you can go to get help. If you don't know any designers, you might even look at on craigslist and/or check out local colleges for art/design students. I studied video in college (way back :) ) and was always looking for projects to do - even for free - just to build up my reel. Later, when I worked in production, ther were always a lot of actors who would work free for their own reels. It's all a matter of getting professional experience, which is tough for anyone breaking in, and students (many of whom are very talented) are often hungry for any work. And in return, you can link back to their site. It's win-win.
Good luck.

Given the choice between no artwork and bad artwork, go without it. But you're up to 11 shows, so it's time. Making your site and your graphics look good, and having the graphics in your podcast, will increase your visibility just about everywhere.

Putting up a myspace or a blog can help alot too. Make friends with people who are into the interests your show is about, even making friends with similar shows that have similar audiences, I've found that helps alot.

) Adjust the sound ? Many podcasts have guests call in for an interview or for their expert opinion. This is a great way to provide great content and value to your listeners so make sure that their volume is at the same level as yours. There is nothing worse than listening to a podcast and having to turn your volume all the way up and strain to hear what the caller has to say and then getting an ear drum shattering boom from you as you give your take on the conversation. If you don?t want to go through the hassle of readjusting the volume for short comments, just repeat or summarize what the caller had to say before commenting back. 2) Same goes for music ? If you play a music intro or some music to end off the show, make sure it is at the same volume level so that listeners don?t have to keep adjusting the volume. Don?t add to the hearing aid boom of 2020 which will be caused by the increase of portable mp3 players.
3) Start off at a low volume ? this works great with music intros. Start off very low and start raising the volume until it is at your normal volume level. This gives time to your listener to readjust their volume without bursting their ear drums since the last podcaster that they listened to didn?t read these tips yet.
Advertising: Give us enough value to make the advertising worth listening to.
4) Don?t spend half the time advertising ? Advertising is fine on a podcast, we understand that you have to monetize somehow but don?t go overboard. If you have a 10 minute podcast, there should not be more than 1 minute of advertising and even that should be broken down. Plugs are a lot better for the listener and much more effective. Personally, I usually look up most of the plugs after the show and ignore the advertising.

Got a major stumble right at take off in my truck with 4 speed. Is it best to increase the accel enrichment vs. TPS or MAP? About how much would I need? If this was a carb I would need to increase the "pumpshot" is the best way to describe the stumble and its right where you dont want it... like pulling out into traffic

Best way to earn money? Without resorting to scams and other underhanded tactics would be to get a job.
Oh, you mean in the game?
I have no idea, I dont really actively try to accumulate gold in the game.

This is a question without prejudice, so please answer the same way. Those of you with pages on Podshow, do you feel that youre picking up listeners who have found you because they use that site? Do you get digs and stuff?I dont hear people outside of podcast producers talking about it, the same way that myspace, youtube, etc, gets coverage and mentioned in coversation.Just wondered if the people who are using it are seeing much benefit.
