View Full Version : Claiming My Feed

I would like to be able to claim my feed, but I cannot. I was part of Podcasternews, and they created the feed. When I left Podcasternews, they refused to redirect it (even though it is no longer available through them) and simply removed it. So I now do not have access to a feed that no longer exists.
Is there anyone I can talk to who can give me access so that I can change the feed to its current location?

I'm assuming this is the same feed you spoke of at http://www.podcastalley.com/forum/showthread.php?p=608702#post608702
PM me or post the old URL of the feed and it's new URL so I can take a look at what we have in our records. From what I gather, your hoping to preserve the comments, votes, etc of the feed. I'll see what I can do on that front.

Yes, you are correct that this is a follow-up to that post, and I am hoping to preserve what exists at http://podcastalley.com/podcast_details.php?pod_id=25087 (I am in fourth position within the Education section).
The name of the podcast should be "One Minute How-To"
The old (wrong) feed was http://www.podcasternews.com/feeds/how_to.xml
The new (correct) feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/OneMinuteHowTo
Thank you for your assistance, and please let me know if there is anything more you need from me.

Do you still recieve email at the listed owner's address (rawvoice.com)? If so, I'll send you a confirmation email and make the change.

I am unable to claim my feed. The feed changed and it appears that you have changed this so that now it is displaying my shows properly (thank you). However, if I click the "Subscribe to Podcast" link then it is displaying the old feed address. If this is what you are looking at for verification for me to claim the feed then it is not looking at the proper feed address. I need to change the name of the podcast, as it changed when the feed changed.

Hello again EclecticMix.
I merged your most recent post with your previous thread. I've confirmed your new feed location through it's forward from the old location. I've made the appropriate changes and you should be able to claim your feed no problem. If you do have any problems, please let me know here.

Okay, thanks. I've put it into my Libsyn feed, which Feedburner points to, but for some reason Feedburner is not picking it up. Perhaps I need to put the link into a new item?

yeah, that is what it is. feedburner takes some time to update.
If you want to force the process, login to your feedburner account at www.feedburner.com and click on 'troubleshootize' and then at the very bottom of the page, click on "Resync Now". that should update your feedburner feed.
after that, try the claim again on PCA. It SHOULD work :)

Okay, feed claimed and information changed. I'm 99% of the way there.
The only thing remaining is that when you search for One Minute How-To my show comes up as " 12. PodcasterNews One Minute Ho... (javascript:expando(11);)." When I changed the name of my show, I removed "PodcasterNews" because I am no longer with them. I am guessing that this listing is in a separate table somewhere? It would be great if you could remove PodcasterNews from the name in the search.
Thank you so much for your help.

The search index isn't updated immediately after your submission. It seems to have cought your change in it's last update. As I mentioned in another thread we'll be working on our search system soon, so please bear with us for a while if the results aren't as expected. See http://www.podcastalley.com/search.php?searchterm=One+Minute+How-To for your results after the update.
