It comes in two parts - the master and the slave.

The Slave is running on computer 1. It is recording that end of the conversation.

The Master is running on computer 2. It is recording THAT end of the conversation.

When the call is finished, the Master hooks up with the Slave to obtain the other half of the conversation. It then merges the two conversations, automatically knowing how the synch the files and adjusting for volume differences.

Anyone?

I would be happy if the slave just saved a file with embedded time code that the interviewee could mail to the interviewer. But it still would have to allow you to process the two ends differently for noise, compression, and EQ.

Ideally, you should be able to import the tracks as two separate tracks for mixing in your multitrack recording program (ie. ProTools, Garage Band, etc.).
