Please forgive me if I am re-crossing well-trodden ground here.

I have an iMac G4 and a Tapco Blend 6 mixer, plus a condender mic with an XLR connection.

The IMac has several USB ports.

So what else do I need to make this work?

I figure I need an M-Audio Fast Track USB interface and a pre-amp for power for the mic, yes?

Anything else?

Thanks in advance for any advice you folks can provide.

Does your condenser mic require phantom power or is there a battery in it?

How many mics are you going to record simultaneously?

There are many ways to do this.

I might have some suggestions.

Sincerely,
Richard

If your mixer can handle the mic (and phantom power), I reckon all you would need to hook the two up is either

a) If you have a line-in on your sound card, get a 'Y' cable from the 'REC-OUT' to the line in (i.e. 2xRCA -> 1/8 in)

b) If you don't (or if it's crappy quality), try a Berhinger UCA202 connection. I have one on order that I should have sometime next week so I can tell you how well it worked. Email me if you want to stay in touch: soccershout@gmail.com
