The No Name Show is a cross between celebrity gossip and embarrassments, pop culture and a couplecast. Shows are released about once a week and run for about 40 minutes. It is hosted by a married couple: Paul and Lori.

There does not seem to be a set format for the show except that it is released once a week. Topics generally include celebrity news and opinions, such as Screech’s recent involvement in a sex tape scandal and Tara Reid’s bad plastic surgery. The show is at its most entertaining when these celebrity issues are discussed as the audience is generally able to relate to the content and the hosts bring the material alive in a humorous way.

The show is less successful when it goes down tangents that the casual listener would have trouble relating to. One recent example is when Paul and Lori watched a video of a Brazilian waxing. While they commented and groaned at the video, the listener on the go (I was grocery shopping at the time) will quickly lose interest as they can’t see the content being described.

At other times the No Name Show is transformed into a standard couplecast as Paul and Lori discuss what has happened to them during the week. While this was sometimes interesting, overall I feel that this aspect of the show needs a much firmer editing hand than it is currently receiving. I quickly lost interest in the story about Paul’s company trip to Minneapolis and the many changes in the airline’s timetable. At times the show lacked preparation and stories were cut short, went on too long or were butchered in some way or another.

The No Name Show has potential. Paul and Lori are enthusiastic hosts who are able to make much of their content interesting. The show in its current format, however, is too unorganized and Paul and Lori don’t seem to have settled on a format. I suspect the show will improve as Paul and Lori become more comfortable with the podcasting medium.

I'd call that a pretty fair and neutral review.

It's funny - the airline bit got us some of the best feedback we've had on the show.

For me sometimes the beauty of radio is making up what the scene looks like in my mind.

I thought your review hit it right on the head... I don't like it when they go off subject, and digress.. I'm not interested in their personal lives..
