I've thrown my podcast all over the internet, and finally it's found a nice home on Podshow.com.

I'm hosting my RSS through feedburner just because of all the moving around (ease of use, and all that).

But in any of those servers I've been on, I havn't found how to actually go into my RSS code and edit it by hand; in order to add tags like:
<itunes:explicit>
and such.

I am a Web Designer by trade, so I know what I'm doing... to an extent.
How would I go into my code and get my hands dirty?

Gus,

If you are on Podshow... it doesn't make any sense for you to host files elsewhere. You wouldn't get credit for downloads. Also, when you upload a show to Podshow, it allows you to set those tags without knowing anything about how to write an RSS file.

I've got to be honest... your post doesn't ring true. Pardon me if I am wrong.

Editing an RSS file involves simply downloading it... putting it in an ordinary text editor... editing and then uploading it back to where it belongs.

You are a web designer by trade? None of this is adding up.

sigh.. yes, I understand how to edit code, like I said, I'm a web designer...

but If I do not have FTP access to the files how do I upload and download them to a server I don't own?

Well, if you are trying to simply add the explicit tag, that can be done from within PodShow.

If you are trying to do other things, there are ways, but not for the faint of heart and can be rather complicated. For example, one way is that you can copy your feed from PodShow, cut and paste it into a text file, edit all you want, then post to your own server. Then, you can direct your audience to your own personal feed, with the enclosures sitting on the PodShow servers. Obviously once you set this into motion, you can't stop without losing listeners, and you will have to repeat the process for each episode you post so be sure that this is something that you want to do.

>.< I figured that was a possibility, but I wasnt sure if there was an easier way without changing servers from whatever I had.

Oh well, thanks for the help.
