Do you use multitack recording?

I have not decided if we are going to do the multi mp3 recording of just record one track directly from skype. It just depends on the teck knowledge of the other members. It is a little to soon to think about that. I am just looking to see if we can get a group that works together. Hope that answers your question.

I think it would be helpful for you to provide some kind of outline of the type of podcast you are hoping to produce.
The best podcasts, IMHO, are ones with a clear agenda and clear idea of the purpose and audience for their show.
Not meaning to sound overly-critical.

Tim

If you're flexible with the recording time (i.e. when you record) count me in.

Well TIM did you ever think that is how I plan to weed "overly-critical" stiffs out of the mix?
I don't mean to be overly critical!

I appreciate your mediation WyethDigital, but I am relaxed. All I said was I am doing things that not everyone might get, to weed out the “inside the box†people. It is simple DO YOU OR DO YOU NOT want to take a chance on a podcast that no one has ever done before to my knowledge. Now after saying that I am not taking myself too seriously it’s just Tim is fun to talk with, but not every week.
Tim to answer one of your questions or statements which ever one. I would like to quote you first “The best podcasts, IMHO, are ones with a clear agenda and clear idea of the purpose and audience for their show.â€
Well Tim “The best podcasts†are relative to each individual and not everyone needs to have everything planned out and explained completely before doing it.
Maybe the reason for not having the whole show outlined here in the forum could be just could be because I don’t have one. Things might just work out better to get some individuals that want to be a part of something just because they are not afraid of the unknown. Then you know you are starting off with individuals that want to be a part of it just for the love of the game and not “Is this going to make me cool and get me laidâ€.
After reading this I don’t even know if I understand what I just wrote. I am sure someone is going to have a field day with this post.

I get it. You want a collaboration with other serious podcasters, and you want the personalities and interests of those who sign up and get accepted to help guide the development of the show. Sounds very interesting. Be interested to see how it comes out and what you guys come up with. If I didn't already have a full plate, I'd sign up myself.
In defense of Tim's comments, he did say that it was just his opinion. He didn't say you had to agree :)

The invitation is open to you "Dude in Japan"
What is it with podcaster not posting any pictures of yourself on your website. Any 5th grader knows that the best way to keep people coming back to your website and for you and your audience to build a relationship. Please newbie’s post pictures of yourself and any others on you show. We need to make a connection to you and your show.
Still looking for some more self starting podcasters to join the show. Have two serious ones need more, must have more. Come on Guys and girls Just sacrifice one of the many times you masturbate during the day and take the time to recored a little fun show with your fellow piers. You still need to pass the gauntlet first, But if you got it there should not be any worries.
Josh in Japan Your show is good. You should get a good stable listener base before asking for donations. I just looks like you are not doing it for the love of the show.
My opinion just my opinion. Don’t get defensive. Just some free advice.

No offense taken. After more than a year, my subscriber base is pretty substantial. If I wanted to actively look for money, I wouldn't be asking for donations, it would be sponsorship. I did in the past to try and get support for a new computer. It failed miserably, and I realized it was quite selfish of me to ask for donations. If I remember correctly, I only did it once or twice.
Depending on the times, I'd be interested in doing something. Let me know.

Kind of funny criticism from a guy that doesn't even appear to have a working website or any other info about himself (except for the claim that he's an experienced podcaster).

Maybe only a bit less.

Why are you so interested with me now? Are you looking to join this elite group of podcasting? (Yes I am being sarcastic) I guess I need to let some know when I am for the ones that JUST DON'T GET IT. And for your next question no I am not arrogant I promise no I'm really not.
(I had a bunch of really cool things typed here, but I deleted them. It might have put you on the defensive)
Oh I have thought of some softer things........ Let's cross our fingers.
I have had some experience with podcasting with a few shows that I would not like to list here. Nothing to be ashamed of. That is not what I am here for. I never said I have extreme experience with podcasting and you should all bow down. I am just looking to put a little podcast together. I am not trying to copy anything out there just wanting to have some fun and who knows we might just have a great time doing it. Isn’t that what it is all about.
I still don't understand why you always seem to chime in and give your 2 cents for other people. Really you don't know anything about me and I am sure you don't care to much either. If I have any questions on the best way to do my nails Be assured you will be the first I come to, but until then let a conversation or criticism between two people be just that.
Oh I was wondering do you do any of the post production or any production on your Vidcast or are you just the pretty face (I might have stretched that a little).
Bring on the hate replies and yes digital you can give your 2 cents on this one.
I really don't usually post this long of a book in forums I guess some need more then others.

T answer your points:
Firstly, I can put in my 2 cents worth on anything I want to (just like you can). It's a public forum, so I don't really need your permission, do I? If you don't want to be asked a question, then don't post publicly. Simple solution, right?
Secondly, I have no "hate" to let fly on you. Generally speaking, IMHO if you're capable of hating a largely anonymous person on an internet forum, you've got too much anger in you for your own good. On that note, I would point out that you were the one that got sarcastic first. See, I don't hate, but I do generally give the attitude back that is given to me; so if you can't handle sarcasm in return, it's probably best not to dish it out too much.
I'll admit, the first time I asked about your experience, I was making a point (that 'tude of yours), but the second time I asked I was genuinely curious. Not because I was interested in joining your podcast -- like I said, stretched on the time. Anyway, because we had been trading barbs, I thought a little genuine interest might smooth some things out. I was wondering if I'd heard or seen anything you've done. I guess I can see how you misconstrued that, so I apologize for that. I didn't really mean anything negative by it.
Finally, as for my podcast, I do the production (2 cameras and sound work) and 65-75% of the post production. Madeline does most of the pre-production (and of course the host duties): Writing, researching, etc. Thanks for asking.

You don't say!
By the way I thought I was talking to the face of the podcast. I guess I should have read the name eric and put 2 and 2 together. I must say we sure have put some great content with this thread on the forum.
Oh and I think I can and have handled sarcasm very well.
P.S how do you hold two camera's and keep them so still or is that a trade secrete.
I am such a dumbass all this time I thought I was talking to a chick.

Yes, it's "Ancient Chinese Secret!" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calgon) :)
Actually, I prefer to use two tripods, although one of them has gone AWOL and now I'm forced to use one for one camera and handhold the other. Makes it a pain to shoot.
Looking forward to hearing your new show!

Eric you are a OK dude.
That is funny that you said it was a ancient Chinese secret because I was going to use that phrase instead, but I thought is was a little to Un P.C. with all the people I was pissing off already with our conversation. Ha Ha.
It has been fun talking with you. Maybe we can do it again sometime. Let’s get really fired up next time.

You're an ok dude, too! Sick minds think alike! Just wait! There's usually plenty of opportunities around here to get really fired up!
I think if you get some of the folks that have expressed interest in your show (like Josh), you should have a very lively show indeed!
