Hello, I'm one of the producers and pretty much Post Production of "Port City PD". Its a Video Podcast series made for the internet. We do the show for almost nothing, but I think it looks alright. We have many people tell us its good, but I would like the opinion's of fellow podcasters. What area's can we improve upon? I know sound is a major weakness for us and we are trying to nail that one down. I never realized how hard it was to get good sound until I did this project. Anyway, watch episode 4 if you can, its our latest one and let me know what you think. I just want to make the best product I can and don't mind the critisim. Here is the link to our video section:

Thanks, for taking a look.

Your audio needs audio compression. This fixes most of the problems I heard.

Now to the part that's more subjective. First it seems you put a frat boy in charge of your music. That should probably change. Next, this is a cop show with the pacing of a soap opera. While some of your actors gave promising performances, some were utter crap. Finally, the file is too big or your bandwidth is too small. It takes too long to download on the connection you offer.

disclaimer: I lasted about 5 minutes but not more. Really high quality stuff for financing yourself. Don't take my opinions as insults.

Downloaded fine for me, so I have no idea why you made that comment as per the bandwidth.

The music and audio are fine.

I was most impressed with the editing. The camerawork is top notch. This is without doubt the best quality video cast on podcastalley.

i was talking about how LONG it took to download.

he's not looking for kudos. he's saying "why the hell isn't this catching on?"

Didn't take long to download on my end. Maybe your connection to the interweb is slow.

While I understand that he is asking for a critique, your suggestions were hardly helpful. Basically you just said: change the music, change some of the actors, etc. That's as helpful as saying, "make it better by 30 percent" without even defining exactly how that is to be accomplished.

If there's any critique that could assist the original poster, it would be that the episodes are too far spaced apart.

Again, in terms of a vidcast, this show is probably one of the best things on podcastalley in that category.

Thanks for replying. I appreciate all of the suggestions. I agree that solutions are the most helpfull. Because I can't fix it if I don't get suggestions. But, I have not taken anything personal and I'm glad to have things brought to my attention. I just want to make a good product.

Awesomeyestellar- Thanks for the compliments! When you mean to far apart do you mean the dates between episode releases? I know that is a problem. Everyone is doing it for free and we are working around their schedules. We are trying to find some common ground on that one. Our hope is to make some money from advertising and kick it up a notch. Originally we wanted to release an episode a month, but when no one's getting paid, you work for them. But the suggestion is noted and I can say we are working on it. Thanks for the comments!
