I challenge you to find a screen shot, email, letter, etc. telling people to vote more than once, how to do it, etc. You're an idiot. We have like 300 votes. That's nothing.

I don’t like Patrick. I don’t like his show, his personality, his attitude, or his avatar. So when I come to his defense, you know it’s sincere.

What you posted doesn’t sound at all like him. Not in the least. The grammar is atrocious, and he knows better than to post in all caps. It’s not his style. And there is no promised list of proxy servers.

And, unlike you, he has the balls to do what he does under his own name, instead of hiding behind an unidentified alias.

Patrick certainly doesn't need me (or anyone else) to defend him, but as a long-time listener of NLO (starting with show #16 and continuing to the present day), and a member of the NLO e-mail list, I can certainly confirm that I have *never* heard Patrick encourage anyone to cheat at voting. He and Adam *do* remind their listeners to vote at the Alley each month on their show, as well as on their web page, but that's hardly a crime. Virtually every podcast I listen to (including my own!) does the same thing. NLO may not be to everyone's taste, but they have come by their success honestly, and I hope the show continues for as long as Patrick and Adam want to do it.

You can get there without cheating. It takes some work and a large fan base willing to vote, but it can be done.

I cringe every time I see one of these stupid threads because:
1) It makes the one posting look petty and a poor sport -- even when they're sincerely frustrated, and
2) There ain't a helluva lot to do about the bound-and-determined folks who do find a way to cheat.

If it makes you feel any better, right now (10-21-06) we're smoking Mugglecast in the iTunes' Top 100! (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewTop?id=33&popId=3) And that's way more telling than PCA's Top 10 list because iTunes uses internal subscription data rather than relying on votes. :)
