The podcast directory lost the link to the individual category's Top 100 again! That sucks.
I like that they lost the purple background. It was looking a touch gloomy.
When you click on your podcast's iTunes page, the design is much cleaner and I like the little reflection of the album art.
As for the program itself, I'm diggin the new search features -- especially the graphical ones.
I want my master library back. It's all subdivided now. Maybe there's a way to "turn on" that option that I haven't discovered yet.
Overall, some nice enhancements and some stuff to tweak. I like it.

The link to the Top 100 is still there. In the right column where it shows the Top 25 in each category there is a small arrow next to the column header title "Top Podcast". When you click that arrow it takes you to the full Top 100 page.

yeah it takes you to the general top 100. NOT the category top 100.

I still haven't updated it. I always hate the new version of ANYTHING because I fear and hate change.
I might have a problem.

Have not had the opportunity yet, Lynne. I would assume that it does increase file size though. But so does Revver when you get your file back from them (the last video I did was increased in size by something like 13 MB).

I know - just another kick in the teeth for the independents but miraculously we are STILL featured on UK itunes!

We were up to number 1 in our subcategory yesterday (they still list the Top 20). Today we're number 8. With the exception of one podcast, all of them now above us are commercially produced (and placed?) podcasts.
However, we're still the number one "featured" podcast in our subcat, so I do take some small comfort in that.
Ahem! If anyone is interested in reviewing my podcast on iTunes, I'll gladly return the favor (reviews now play a larger role in ranking at iTunes). Be aware, I will review honestly (and expect the same in return).

Just discovered the new iPod export tonight...I don't like how it now defaults to 640x480 with no option to change! Has anyone found a work-around (No not MPEG-4)
The 320x240 files were perfect and had I know this feature changed I would not have upgraded to QT 7.
Anyone know how to get it back?

Here's a work-a-round to try. Without having played with it much, I can't tell you if this will work, but try this:
Export to the iPod format, then choose go to the Window Menu in QuickTime and choose Show Movie Properties. This brings up a panel that lists the various tracks in your video (audio and vid primarily). Select video track. The click Visual Settings in the options bar (under the tracks window). You should see options to change the scale of your picture. Adjust to the size you want (if the numbers don't conform to the correct aspect ratio, uncheck the box that says "preserve aspect ratio).
Now go to the File Menu, select Save As and check the box for Make Movie Self-Contained. That will flatten your video out at the resolution that you want.
It should not affect the visual quality (except for shrinking it), but if you think it does, the Visual Settings (where you manually scaled the size of your video) has three check boxes in the bottom left corner: High Quality, Single Field, and Deinterlace. Playing with a combination of these boxes enabled usually helps the quality of the video. For scaling down, I would suggest activating the Deinterlace and/or the single field boxes.
Eric
PS -- Otherwise you could re-export using MP4, scaling the movie, and choosing the pass-through option.

Hmmm...I tried it and it looks like it is just scaling the video down during playback. In fact the file size is exactly the same, so this must be it. But I can play with the settings.
Here is some good info on a thread trying to get back to the H.264 320x240 settings by using the manual settings:

I just wish the 320x240 option was still..an option...

Yeah, I'm surprised that it isn't. I'll get my chance to play with it later this weekend when I encode our next video. How much did it increase your typical file size by?
