Pitch ringing? Can I make it stop?

Hi guys. I am using the Adobe Audition 1.5 software but it's odd, when I try to mask my voice using the pitch changer, I always hear this faint ringing sound in the background. Anyone else ever had anything like this happen? When I don't change the pitch of a voice, it's fine--so I don't think it's the microphone I use.

I've always tried pretty much every noise reduction the software has to offer. Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

go to view>>spectral analysis

you'll see a red/orange/white stripe across the view, higher up (higher pitched) than the stuff down at the bottom (your speaking). simply select that whole band and just delete it. no more high-pitched ringing. yay!
