We've been podcasting for quite awhile on my website but unfortanatly, our set-up has been what I call "ghetto" to say the least.

I'm able to connect two microphones to my PC using a splitter. However, the fact of the matter is that I'd like for everyone to have their own microphone. We usually have anywhere from four to six people on every broadcast.

I suppose my question is just what's in the title. How do I go about connectiong more microphones to my PC? Do I need a mixer to do it? If so, which one? While I want my podcast to be good, I can't exactly afford to spend a ton of money right now due to situation (I'm trying to get back into college)

Also, I always use CoolEdit to edit the casts before they go on my website... would I still be able to use this if I got a mixer?

Thanks for the help! Sorry for so many questions.

A good mixer would be the easier way. I had a Behringer, but wasn't too keen of the mic pre's. I use a Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro. Do you want to record each mic as a seperate track, or just the final mix? If you just want to record your mix, just hook up one of the main outs to your sound card.

Well, I just want to record each mic as just the final mix. Would I need a mixer to hook up one of the main outs to my sound card. How does this work? Thanks for the help! :)

You need to take the left and right out from the mixer and turn it into a left and right in on your computer. All you need is a cable or adapter thats you can connect the two.

The way I do it. I take the output from my mixer run it into a firewire interface (Behringer FCA202).
