Hi everyone. I haven't been on this forum in a while.
I am currently using an olympus DM-20 which was amazing for voice recording and works pretty well with my binaural microphone. The drawback is that it records only wma, but even worse the max quality is 64Kbs!
At this low bit-rate you can hear the compression and artefacts. I just can hear it and I'm not happy with it. I'd rather be able to record at a higher bit-rate and reduce it later on, if I want.
I've seen NFS notesfromspain.com use an iRiver 799 which produces very good results on their podcast. I can't find these on ebay or anywhere on the internet, not even the newer 899 model.
So I'm looking for a recorder
<=£100
adjustable input level
adjustable quality, at least 128Kbs
stereo
records mp3
hoping for around 1gb size
available in UK/europe
Pretty cool if it would use aa/aaa batteries too.
Looking forward to hearing your suggestions. Thanks.
