Sorry about this simple question....but can I get a MP3 player that records and downloads to a pc?

All the local traders in my town say it is not possible.

that's why local traders are idiots! :)

any iriver that starts in ifp-7 or ifp-8 will work great.

they're pretty much the podcasting standard. they're no longer in production, but you can always find used or refurbised ones on ebay for decent prices.

bought mine as a refurb and has worked great for about a year.
